Summer Feelings at the Regional Summer Championships!

Sophia Walker competes on June 20, 2026, with her Limmat Sharks team at the summery RZO: Regional Summer Championships in Winterthur and is in top form.

Sophia Walker competes in the age group of 12-13-year-old swimmers at the regional summer championships. The focus is on preparing for the upcoming Swiss Junior Championships. Routine, improvements, team spirit, and drinking enough water are essential at nearly 40 degrees.
Over 50-m breaststroke, Sophia won in 35.95 seconds, and over 100-m breaststroke in 1:17.79 as well. She also earned silver medals in the 200-m breaststroke (2:50.92), 200-m individual medley (2:42.16), and 400-m individual medley (5:50.12). In the 100-m freestyle (1:05.86) and 100-m butterfly (1:16.74), she placed 4th respectively. In total, Sophia Walker stood on the podium five times.

The regional summer championships in Winterthur offered the young swimmers from the region a great opportunity to test their form before the summer break.

Sophia's note: Lots of sunscreen, managed the 36-second mark in 50-m breaststroke, and pushed through my first 400-m individual medley in the big pool. Proud. Butterfly is so hard.
